Phuket is an island in southern Thailand. It is located in the Andaman Sea and separated from the mainland by a narrow waterway. The isle beckons with numerous gorgeous beaches, which are beloved destinations for folks from all over the globe. The most fancied ocean shores of the Island of Phuket are situated on the west coast. They offer everything a dream vacation should hold in store, such as swaying palm trees, dazzling white sand and turquoise sea water.

The busiest sea shore is the Patong Beach. Here, travelers and locals mingle for entertainment purposes and to have fun. Here, one finds most bars, restaurants and dance clubs. The nearby Freedom Beach is a paradise for snorkelers and swimmers. The famous protected cove is only accessible by boat. However, one should only visit it outside the main seasons, as during high-time it is too crowded.

Phuket offers many other recreation opportunities, aside from relaxing on the beach. Tourists can hire a scooter or jeep and begin to explore the island on their own. Impressive is the temple Wrat Chalong, which is located about 2,5 miles north of Chalong Bay. Furthermore, the Phuket Zoo, the Phuket Aquarium and the Butterfly Garden are worth a trip. Between Karon Beach and Chalong Bay, there is a snake farm, where visitors can view numerous exotic snake-species. For lovers of fauna and flora, a guided jungle tour is highly recommended.

The nightlife in Phuket is for many the main reason to travel to the island. Tourists can expect a quite vibrant atmosphere at all beaches on the west coast. Beer bars are available at all ocean shores; however, the center of the action is the famous Patong Beach. Thousands of shops, clubs and restaurants compete here in the evening, and there is nothing that does not exist.

Special treats for the eyes are the so-called Ladyboy Bars in the Bangla Road. This area provides travelers an extended entertaining program with roller coasters, single bars and beer gardens. Absolute highlights are also presented shows, such as the Simon Cabaret. A colorful revue in Broadway style that guests should not miss to see.

Eating in Phuket is an experience in itself, as the selection of culinary delights is immense in throughout the island. Alone in the town of Patong, there are over hundred different food establishments, which invite travelers to get to know the Thai kitchen. Depending on what one feels like, it is possible to have a simple snack or dine in a veritable temple of luxury. Besides all this, there are cozy pubs and specialty restaurants all over the area. However, Phuket does not only impress with typical Thai food. Since it is a tourist region, the locals serve exquisite international dishes, too.

Phuket, with its exotic flair and pristine environment is the ideal destination for people who look for a unique holiday. The locals are friendly; the sky is always blue, and the attractions are outstanding. The island puts an enchanting spell on travelers, who return home with extraordinary impressions in mind and memories of a pure adventure in their hearts.
