Deep in the central Pacific Ocean lies a paradise of both tranquil beauty and adventure. Hawaii is made up of a chain of over 100 islands spanning 1500 miles. When the word Hawaii is spoken, most people are talking about the 8 main gorgeous islands of Hawaii which offer many attractions and activities. Attractions include natural wonders, snorkelling and diving, arts and culture, entertainment, and shopping, just to name a few.
Hawaii's Big Island One of the most well-known attractions on Hawaii's Big Island is Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, home of Kilauea Volcano, one of the most active volcanoes in the world. The park also features a museum and even rainforests. Akaka Falls State Park, boasts the spectacular Akaka Falls and Kahuna Falls. A couple other sites of interest include the Keauhou resort area and the Hamakua Heritage Corridor, a scenic drive with breathtaking views of waterfalls and gardens.
Hawaii's Kahoolawe One of Hawaii's group of eight volcanic islands, Kahoolawe is also one of the smallest at 44 square miles. The island was used in the past by the United States for naval training, today the island is being preserved for the Hawaiian culture.
Hawaii's Kauai Discover adventure in Kauai, an island filled with natural wonders and adventures. Hiking is one of the only ways to reach Napali Coast, a coastal mountain range featuring green cliffs and waterfalls. Just as exciting is the unforgettable view of Waimea Canyon which has earned the nickname of "The Grand Canyon of the Pacific." Other attractions include Poipu Beach Park, Wailua River, Spouting Horn, and the cultural Hanalei Town.
Hawaii's Oahu Oahu is known as the central part of Hawaii and is home to Honolulu, Hawaii's capital. Along the south shore of Honolulu is Waikiki, a group of resorts. Waikiki is proud of its pristine beaches, Honolulu Zoo, Waikiki Aquarium, and shopping outlets. Hawaiian Regional Cuisine can also be enjoyed at many Waikiki restaurants.
Hawaii's Molokai Molokai has a number of white sand beaches, natural wonders, and national parks such as Kaluapap National Park which provides beautiful views of Molokai's North coast. A small village, Maunaloa, is home to unique shops and galleries and is nearby Papohaku Beach.
Hawaii's Lanai With picturesque and legendary Puu Pehe (Sweetheart Rock) nearby, romance can't be far off. Furthermore, the romantic destination, Polihua Beach, is the most secluded beach on Lanai. Green sea turtles and humpback whales are common sights from Polihua Beach.
Hawaii's Maui Maui has beautiful beaches, cultural venues, and much more. One of the best and most popular beaches of Maui is the Kaanapali Beach, while Lahaina, Maui is one of Maui's hot spots. It is home to many art galleries and historic sites. Also, Snorkelling and diving are popular at a small island, Molokini, off the shore of Maui.
Hawaii”s Niihau The smallest of the group of 8 main islands making up the Hawaiian chain, Niihau is often called the “Forbidden Island”. Privately owned, Niihau is also the least populated island with only 160 residents. Half day tours are available to the island by Niihau Helicopter Tours
