Once in downtown Fort Myers, there is a shopping cent which includes restaurants, Tanger Outlet stores, and night life. Bell Tower is a buzzing hotspot. Florida Gulf Coast University is located just down the road from the Bell Tower.
Also located in Fort Myers is a naturists dream: Butterfly Estates. This unique garden house gives an up close view at butterflies of all kinds. They also have a restaurant and gift store. Wildlife sanctuaries can be found in Lee Island Coast. This is important to the species of this area and gives visitors an insight to animals they may have never had contact with before.
For history buffs, there is multiple museums including one that showcases Thomas Edison and Henry Ford's winter homes. Visitors are able to take a tour of the 20 acres of land which includes botanical gardens, estate, and historic buildings.
