The beaches of Port St. Lucie, Florida, on the eastern coast of Florida, span over twenty miles. They boast stunning views, pristine sand, and  water favorable for many aquatic activities. Weather in the area is  excellent virtually year round.

Frederick Douglas Beach is an ideal  destination for families and fishing enthusiasts. It is protected by  trained lifeguards in peak season and has areas for snacking and  grilling. A number of sports can be played on and around the beach. The  boardwalk is handicap accessible, and showers make cleaning up after a  busy day much easier.

For those looking for something more secluded and quiet, Blind Creek is a  great choice. This beach is typically sparsely populated and does not  have lifeguards at any time during the year. This beautiful spot is  perfect for couples and individuals looking for a relaxing experience on the sand.

If outdoor recreation is a priority, the best option is Pepper Park beach. Courts are available for tennis, volleyball,  basketball and more. Families with young children will appreciate the  large playground, and the beach is handicap accessible. A similar  destination is Jaycee Park, which also offers lifeguard protection and  plenty of areas for picnics and grilling.

For safe and clean year  round swimming, the South Beach Boardwalk offers family changing  facilities with showers, full time lifeguards and multiple covered  eating areas. This is a popular location for young families and those  wishing to host parties or family gatherings.

Fishing and boating are possible at a number of locations, but one of the best  for these pastimes is South Causeway Island. A large boat ramp is  available, along with some great spots to catch a fish or two. Nearby  Walton Rocks Beach, also popular for fishing, is the only beach in Port  St. Lucie where dogs are permitted on the sand.

One of the most  popular attractions on the Port St. Lucie beaches is horse riding.  Frederick Douglas offers gentle rides along the waterfront and sunset  trots for unforgettable views. Hutchinson Island is a more secluded area to experience breathtaking views while letting the horse navigate the  rocky terrain.
